Highlights: Chicago Police Officer Henry Lai, president, Asian American Law Enforcement Association, was named recipient of the 2022 Ping Tom Memorial Pan Asian American Award, and Illinois State Senator Laura Murphy (D-28) was named the 2022 recipient of the Coalition’s Sandra Otaka Memorial Grand Asian American Award.
The Community handed over the AACC “torch” to next year’s host: the Vietnamese American community for the year 2023.
The Malaysian American Community also hosted AACC’s annual Asian Heritage Month Festival on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Chinatown Square. The festival featured cultural performers and an all-day health fair.
